Manuela Michaels

Manuela has lived in Breckenridge since 2011 with her husband and two daughters. She is a native of Brazil and attended the Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo in Vitoria, ES.   She graduated in 2003 with a degree in Architecture and Urban Planning. In 2004, she moved to Minneapolis where she worked as an office manager for a financial management firm for seven years. Her family then decided they wanted a better quality of life and felt that living in the small Colorado town of Breckenridge would be the perfect fit! Since 2014 she has worked from home as an administrative assistant and has enjoyed volunteering in her children's schools and assisting our teachers.

Manuela is running for the Summit School District Board of Education because she sees a valuable opportunity to make a difference in our community. As an immigrant, she can relate to the unique challenges of our “English as a second language” population and is living proof that the “American Dream” is achievable. She hopes to make a positive impact and advocate for all students and families in the community. Manuela will focus on promoting effective high quality education, positive educational culture, and continually improving programs to prepare students for a successful and productive life in an ever changing world.
